Welcome, sweet day of rest
- mf Welcome, sweet day of rest.
That saw the Lord arise;
Welcome to this reviving breast,
And these rejoicing eyes.
- The King Himself comes near,
And feasts His saints today.
Here may we stay, and see Him here.
And love, and praise and pray.
- One day of pray'r and praise
His sacred c:ourts within,
Is sweeter than ten thousand days
In pleasure's path of sin.
- f My willing soul would stay
In such a frame as this;
And was to hail the brighter day
Of everlasting bliss.
