Hymn 637
there's a sweet and bless-ed sto-ry
- There's a sweet and bless-ed sto-ry
Of the Christ who came from glo-ry,
Just to res-cue me from sin and mi-se-ry;
He in lov-ing kindness sought me,
And from sin and shame hath brought me,
Hal-le-lu-jah! Jesus ran-somed me.
Hal-le-lu-jah! What a Saviour!
Who can take a poor lost sin-ner,
Lift him from the mi-ry clay and
set him free(Hal-le-lu-jah)
I will e-ver tell the story,
Shouting glo-ry, glo-ry, glo-ry,
Hal-le-lu-jah! Je-sus ran-somed me.
- From the depth of sin and sadness
To the heights of joy and gladness,
Je-sus lift-ed me, in mer-cy full and free;
With His precious blood He bought me.
When I knew Him not, He sought me,
And in love di-vine He ransomed me,
- From the throne of heav'nly glory.
Oh, the sweet and blessed story!
Je-sus came to lift the lost in sin and woe
In-to li ber-ty all-glorious,
Tro-phies of His grace victorious.
Evermore re-joic-ing here below.
- By and by with joy in-creasing,
And with gra-ti-tude un-ceasing.
Lifted up with Christ for e-ver more to be;
I will join the host there singing.
In the an-them e-ver ring-ing.
To the King of love who ransomed me.
