FROM 'HOPELESS' TO 'TESTIMONY'

Memorise:
For with God nothing shall be impossible. .. Luke 1:37

Read:
Ezekiel 37:1-10

Message

Several years ago, we held a Holy Ghost Service at the National Stadium in Surulere, Lagos. During the service, the Lord said that there was somebody in the congregation who had only one kidney because the other one had been removed through surgery. The Lord further said that the remaining kidney was not in good condition, so He would give the person two brand-new kidneys. If1 had not recognized the voice of God, I wouldn't have dared to tell the congregation what I heard. A man in the congregation knew that the Lord was talking about him because one of his kidneys had been surgically removed, and the other one was not functioning properly. On Saturday morning, as soon as the programme was over, he went straight to the hospital where the surgery to remove his kidney was done and asked the surgeon to examine him. The surgeon said, "I remember your case; the day we were removing your kidney, everything went wrong. The surgery that was supposed to take less than an hour lasted eight hours." When the surgeons examined him, they found two brand-new kidneys. When God, who is the God of hope (Romans 15:13), steps into a case, that case changes its status from 'hopeless' to 'testimony'.

God gives victory over hopelessness. For example, in Genesis 18:9-14, when He told Abraham that Sarah would have a son in nine months, Sarah laughed because she thought the situation was hopeless. However, the Almighty God, who could have said, "Because you laughed, I cancel what I have said," did not change his mind. Instead, He said, "You can laugh as much as you like, but Isaac will be born." Beloved, if you have considered your situation as hopeless before now, I have good news for you today. In the name that is above every other name, your Isaac will be born.

There is no hopeless case with God. Jeremiah 32:27 says, "Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh: is there any thing too hard for me?" In Ezekiel 37:1-10 the Bible tells us that the Almighty God caused dry bones to live again. They were not just dead bodies; they were very dry bones. Yet, the Lord Cod caused His servant to prophesy, and the dry bones came back to life.

Beloved, the God who made dry bones to live again can take care of your situation. Men may have written you off, but with God, nothing is impossible (Luke 1:37).

The Great Physician Now Is Near

Key Point:
God specialises in turning impossible and hopeless situations around.

King James Version

Ezekiel 37:1-10

The hand of the Lord was upon me, and carried me out in the spirit of the Lord, and set me down in the midst of the valley which was full of bones, [2] And caused me to pass by them round about: and, behold, there were very many in the open valley; and, lo, they were very dry. [3] And he said unto me, Son of man, can these bones live? And I answered, O Lord God, thou knowest. [4] Again he said unto me, Prophesy upon these bones, and say unto them, O ye dry bones, hear the word of the Lord. [5] Thus saith the Lord God unto these bones; Behold, I will cause breath to enter into you, and ye shall live: [6] And I will lay sinews upon you, and will bring up flesh upon you, and cover you with skin, and put breath in you, and ye shall live; and ye shall know that I am the Lord. [7] So I prophesied as I was commanded: and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and behold a shaking, and the bones came together, bone to his bone. [8] And when I beheld, lo, the sinews and the flesh came up upon them, and the skin covered them above: but there was no breath in them. [9] Then said he unto me, Prophesy unto the wind, prophesy, son of man, and say to the wind, Thus saith the Lord God; Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe upon these slain, that they may live. [10] So I prophesied as he commanded me, and the breath came into them, and they lived, and stood up upon their feet, an exceeding great army.
RCCG Hymn

The great Physician now is near

  1. The great Physician now is near.
    The sympathising Jesus;
    He speaks the drooping heart to cheer.
    Oh, hear the voice of Jesus.

  2. Sweetest note in seraph song
    Sweetest name on mortal tongue
    Sweetest carol ever sung
    Jesus, Blessed Jesus.

  3. Your many sins are all forgiven.
    Oh, hear the voice of Jesus;
    Go on your way in peace to heaven.
    And wear a crown with Jesus.
  4. All glory to the dying lamb!
    I now believe in Jesus;
    I love the blessed Saviour's name,
    I love the name of Jesus.
  5. His name dispels my guilt and fear.
    No other name but Jesus
    Oh! how my soul delights to hear
    The precious name of Jesus.
